August 8, 2012 is the 24th anniversary of 1988 democracy uprising in Burma.
Though Burma seems to be moving toward the path of democracy,
civil war is continuing in some states and political prisoners remain in notorious prisons.

all the remaining political prisoners must be released and
the current government should cease waging civil war against the ethnic minorities.
